A quick hello! My name is Stephanie Otto. I serve as

privilege working with many LWMS reporters and
Contact Women. If you have questions about
shipments to Africa, current needs or other CAMM
related questions, please reach out. I would love
to hear from you. If you would like to join the Contact

Pill Bottle Donations
Used pill bottles are used each day by our clinics in
Zambia and Malawi to dispense liquid
medications. However, we are unable to accept
more shipments of pill bottles in Malawi at this
time, due to the lack of storage space for them at
our main clinic building. Here are a few reminders if
your group is interested in gathering, preparing,
and shipping pill bottles to Africa.
—Shipping costs are the responsibility of the
group preparing the package. Many have used
Thrivent Action Grants to cover these costs
which can run from $175-$250 depending in the
size of your package.
—Ensure all bottles are clean and without stickers
or sticky residue.
CAMM Quick Facts
1) We serve over 70,000 patients each year. The
clinic in Zambia serves about 25,000 patients
annually and delivers about 150 babies annually.
2) The mobile clinic in Malawi serves over 45,000
patients annually at 4 remote sites.
3) Our clinics are served entirely by national staff.
4) Each clinic has devotions for patients at the very
start of clinic day, led by a pastor or elder from
the Lutheran Church of Central Africa.

Zambia Clinic
In Zambia, we have a clinic staffed by national
staff located in Mwembezhi Village, which is about
60 miles west of Lusaka. Services in Zambia
include preventative healthcare for children,
antenatal care, and birthing as well as outpatient
services for illnesses such as malaria, HIV/AIDS,
parasitic infections and tuberculosis.
One current project in Zambia is the construction
of an ablution block. The ablution block is a
building which will contain toilets, sinks, and
showers for the patients who come to clinic.
Currently there are no toilet or washing facilities
at the clinic for our patients to use which have
running water. The only toilets that are available
to patients are pit toilets. The ablution block is a
long-awaited improvement to our clinic site,
which will provide a much more sanitary
environment for the patients who come for
treatment or to deliver a baby.
Malawi Clinic
In Malawi, CAMM operates a mobile clinic. The
clinic focuses on preventive healthcare for
mothers and children, but also tends to those that
need medical attention. We also provide an infant
wellness program, which includes immunizations
and care for children in Malawi.

Kenya Medical Camp
CAMM organized a short-term medical camp
from February 10th to 14th in Chabera, Kenya.
Kate Wood, Field Director/Executive Director,
and retiring Field Director, Gary Evans, led 6
WELS volunteers, coordinated with the African
Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ
(LCMC) leadership, engaged LCMC church
volunteers, and partnered with the Kenyan
Health District in the third “pop-up” medical camp in
Kenya. The first medical camp in the underserved
Chabera area drew just shy of 2,400 children, women,
and men in 5 days, many arriving by foot and some by
motorcycle taxi traveling up to 5 kilometers for
free medical services, medical screening, and
medication.
THANK YOU!
On behalf of the entire CAMM
stateside committee, we would like to
say thank you to LWMS for all of your
years of support and prayers.
