Do you want to be a
CAMM-bassador volunteer?

The Central Africa Medical Mission (CAMM) has held short-term medical camps in Kenya in 2024 and 2025 and has another scheduled for 2026. Stateside volunteers have joined CAMM to help serve these clinics. All congregations in fellowship with the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS) are eligible to apply to host a short-term medical camp, so opportunities are not limited to Kenya.

Guidelines to consider when applying for a CAMM short-term medical camp:

  • Medical experience is not required; volunteers do not need to be nurses or healthcare professionals.
  • Volunteers must be member of a WELS congregation.
  • Travel to clinic sites can be demanding—expect long air travel, long and bumpy car rides, and hilly, rainy, or dry terrain. Consider whether you can physically manage these conditions.
  • You must be willing to obtain the immunizations required for the specific country.
  • Volunteers are responsible for all trip costs, including airfare, lodging, transportation, and meals.
